Did that South Park episode succeed in getting them relabled 'fags'?

Hey, I got a warning once using that reference in the Garage forum. Guess they don't watch South Park. :D

I've never bought the argument that loud pipes save lives. Especially when you're up against moron drivers on the cell phone or with the radio cranked. The Harley riders like to be noticed though. Comes with the territory of being a "badass". Too bad they're now a yuppie bike. They're probably the top contributor to noise pollution in the summer around here, along with the dump trucks and fart cans.

they don't have to be loud at all. They are fully optimized by the mfgr. for use on public roads and freeways. Immature fools who want to attract attention install off road illegal exhaust systems that actually degrade performance due to cylinder scavenging disruption. But all the noise and racket is coming to a end. California will be aggressively ticketing and inspecting bikes and will not allow any variance on existing noise abatement standards.

The state Senate on Monday voted 21-16 to pass SB435. The bill makes it a crime to operate a motorcycle manufactured after Jan. 1, 2013, that fails to meet federal noise-emission control standards.

I'll ad to this necro.
I've been riding for well over 40 years.
The main rules have always been: Wear your helmet & keep your headlight(s) on.

Too many (most) of the dumbasses I see with the loud machines typically have no helmet on NOR do they have their headlights on! (And usually wearing shorts & a vest, or similarly dressed)
Not to mention exceeding the speed limit.
