Do motherboards come with the necessary cables for hooking up the CD-ROM/DVD drive, CD-RW, hard drive, floppy drive etc.? I'm thinking about getting either an Epox, an MSI, or a Gigabyte mobo for the Athlon/DDR system I'm building. So, would these come with all those necessities?

Thanks,

Mobos typically come with one floppy cable and two IDE cables. Some only come with one IDE cable. Check with the manufacturer.

It really depends on the mfr, but more importantly, whether or not it's retail-boxed or oem. oem rarely has all the cables, while retail more often than not does.

Most retail boxed mobos come with 1) floppy cable 2) ATA33 cable and 3) ATA100 cable. The ATA33 is for CD, DVD, and CD-RW. The ATA100 (which is back compatible with ATA66) is for your HD.

However, it does depend on the manufacturer.
