Do Moderators get paid?

Hi, I´ve been talking with the marketing director of a known motherboard brand. I contacted her for another thing, and I got lucky when I told her I moderate two Chilean forums. By mail she asked me if I would moderate a new spanish section they would be doing, and asked me "how does it work down there?", well here you don´t get paid. But I was thinking do moderators of "brand" or official forums, get paid? If this is positive, how much should be a fair pay? I´m ok with 10 bucks a month to buy cigarrettes, but if moderators get well paid, that wouldn´t be too fair.

Any thoughts?

You might. No one can say for sure, you will have to ask them.

That can be really crappy or great, depending of what type of Pesos are you talking about.

It´s different an Australian Dollar than an American Dollar, isn´t?

there are boards where they get a small $

back in the big days of the interweb, i think it was more $ and more common to pay mods

I thought anyone here was moderating or had links to hardware manufacturers, but it seems it´s only people with to much free time.

I don't think most get paid. I sure as heck don't get paid for the board I am a mod of. However maybe there are some boards out there somewhere where they do. If that is the case, I am sure it is a very small number.
