IMHO, I preferred my Barton 2500+ to my Mobile 2400+. The barton ran about 5°C cooler then the mobile no matter what I tried, so I gave up and kept the barton. I'n not sure what the voltages were though since i just left it set to "auto".
my mobile 2600 runs at 2.2 ghz 1.4 vcore at 34 idle you have to adjust the voltage to get the cool running effect going default is 1.65 i think for most athalon boards so with that kink of voltage you could have been running at 2.3-2.4 ghz at the same temps.
Yes, they run cooler due to the lower voltage... however, if you change the voltage to 1.65 and run it at 2.2 GHz it won't be any different than an XP3200.
i have a duron 1.6 running at 1.3V with no fan on the heatsink and it run load of 59C, but hey its worth it cause its silent, and all the computer is used for is surfing and storage of network files
