Do middle school teens that believe in being vegetarians truly believe in it?

My little sister (that means don't be MJ right there) who's in middle school right now wants to become a vegatarian for no reason at all (except for that generic reason that they just don't want to eat meat)... So I'm just wondering if teens, if wanting to be a vegetarian are fully into becoming one.

She used to eat meat and liked it, now she doesn't?
She used to eat teryaki chicken at her cafeteria, now she doesn't...:confused:...
She used to love ribs... Now she doesn't...

It means more for me though :)...

No idea. At that age they're *very* impressionable and it's likely someone else touted vegetarianism as cool/right/whatever. It'll be a pain to change what she eats to replace the amino acids/iron/etc you'd otherwise get from meat. Hope she likes beans :D

She might have a teacher who has convinced her that cows and chickens are really people.

I agree with the above posters.

She knows someone else that is a vegetarian and even if it wasn't intentional, they have convinced her that the vegetarian lifestyle is superior to the lifestyle of us carnivores.

have you actually asked her if there is a specific reason? there are several legitimate reasons for being vegetarian. but your right, she probably is just trying to be cool, or different.

What is the best part of a human anyway? Would it be the stomach with the fat to make it juicy, or the leg area with the most lean muscle?

Maybe she just feels that it would be a healthy thing to do. It's certainly a lot better than eating as much meat as most people eat.

My sister was the same way at that age, she actually stuck with it till about her sophomore year in high school, then she just started eating meat again just as abruptly as she had stopped eating it.

No cannibalistic discussions please. Go to the cannibals forum if you want to do that. Or maybe just Software and Apps.

probably the glutes/thighs. the stomach would be RIGHT OUT due to the acids and such.

Its the cool thing to do right now, or maybe she just ate too much meat one day (calm down all you sickos, shes in middle school so lets not hear any jokes :D) I ate about 2lbs of swedish fish at a lan party a couple years back and swore them off from that day even though they're so good. I've been clean ever since then :)
