If no, then do rats? If no, then what animal skeleton looks like a mouse, but has a ribcage? Someone told me that mice don't have ribcages, and I'm curious. Anyone know?

As far as I know all of the higher vertibrates have ribs. Frogs and toads don't, I'm pretty sure, I don't know about salamanders.

Indeed, they do.

Salamanders are pretty squishy in their midsections. ;)

Find one, squeeze it tightly in your hands, and if you feel a "crunch" from their midsection, then you have your answer.

Just go to your local petshop and try it...they gotta have mice.

Yes, mice, rats, and frogs all have ribcages. I have done dissections to all of them. Not sure about salamanders, but basically I think anything with a true heart has a ribcage, sicne they are designed to protect the heart. I would imagine a salmander would at least have some cartilage over it, since they crawl on the ground, and sitting on a sharp point on a rock could puncture it.

Frog skeletons have little spurs coming off the vertebrae. You could call the little spurs "ribs", I guess, but since they don't touch each other at all it's not really a ribcage.

Can't mice fit through really small spaces? Maybe they have a collapsible ribcage
