Is this true? That men with lower levels of testosterone are less likely to bald or bald later in life? Just seems like not only would that make sense but something one could look out for.

Funny how testosterone makes you have hair everywhere else on your body but makes you bald on the head.

High testosterone has been medically linked to baldness, excessive body hair, and an increased build.

I started balding at 15, I have to shave my back, and I don't work out but I look built. I think I'd give up the extra testosterone if I could.

I've wondered the same thing.

IIRC, high testosterone later in life also leads increased chance of prostate cancer. (In fact, castration is a treatment!) So does that mean low testosterone=lower chance of prostate ca?

It is true.... a very good amount of guys who use steroids for a prolonged period have receding hairlines prematurely.

I just recently had a blood test and my test is naturally out of range. This is why i have stupid ***** back hair. Luckily my scalp isnt suffering yet.

WTF would a kid like you have any interest in a subject like this? You and goku, your alter ego, have needs to ask controversial questions, before reaching puberty?

i have low testosterone, around 250, when average is like 600. yet im 26, and have a receding hair line, and thinning hair at the top. also don't have much body hair.

baldness is a gene though i believe that starts in teh womb. genetically im screwed so to speak cuz my dad, grandpa, etc.. are bald.

I thought baldness skips a generation.

It has something to do with testosterone converting to DHT, which ends up causing the male pattern baldness. If it really were really high t-levels, all balding people would be inclined to be lean/ripped.

I thought it was carried by the X chrom, so it's either the mother's father/mother that carries it.

Yep, it's not as simple as high testosterone = male pattern baldness.

I'm surprised it took this long for someone to post this.

Balls>hair
QFT.....but you have to admit, the alternative isn't much better. It doesn't take balls to admit that wearing a tupee looks like ass.
