Do magnets affect flash ram?

I'd like to setup a magnet system in my car to toss my wife's iPod Nano onto, but I'm not sure if it will affect the flash memory in the iPod. I have a front input jack and a cable for hooking up the audio into the car, but no good place to put the iPod. Any ideas?

no, Flash memory is a.k.a. EEPROM, Electronically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory. magnets should have no effect on the Flash itself.

As long as you don't move the ipod relative to the magnetic field. Given a magnetic field strong enough, moving a wire through it will generate current flow in a certain direction. It seems unlikely that it would affect your iPod though unless it was a really strong magnet.
