True dat. I would think Old or a woman. Some of the elites don't get much either...

No.

There are quite a few who are pillars of the community, simply because they've been here a long time. Not all lifers are what I would call valuable, but then again, not every elite member is valuable either.

It's all about how you act on the forum. Postcount and time spent do kind of show that you've "paid your dues", but it's not a big factor.

The vast majority of my posts have been in debates about political and social issues.

To be honest, I can't understand this fixation on post count. They could reset mine for all I care.

i really dont get a crap about my post count. This board is entertainment while i'm at work, and has served its job very well.

Been here a while = respect

High post count in a very short amount of time = none

I respect the people that post in numerous forums, not just Off Topic. It seems like off topic has an abundance of AOL chatroom BS. I read alot in here but don't post much, I really enjoy most posts.
What gets irritating is the posts that are just stuff they don't care about, its just for the post count.

For instance, I just picked an anonymous person out of this thread and looked (for shits and giggles, hell, the person could just be at work) and 289 out of their last 300 posts were in off topic.

This is a hardware forum that i check everyday trying to read up on and learn new things, IMO not an aol chatroom.

Just my $0.02....

There are those of us(me for example) who work in the business and dont want to spend 24 hours a day thinking about computers, so we retreat to OT.
