Do lie detectors really work?

Yes and no.

Most of the exam's accuracy depends on the examiner and his ability to distinguish false positives from real ones.

on what?

In my psychology class, they stated that some people "know" how to lie.

Lie detectors sense heartbeat, brainwave and body moisture.

Of course, there are some people that just know how to lie and get away with it. And there are others that are sweating because of fright from the test itself.

exactly. When the test is adminstered correctly, it tests five things. (i can't remember them all, but i'm pretty sure it was five total).

according to the movie "The Recruit", it depends on the person tested 😕

Also according to that movie, you can learn Persian by taking night classes.

Also, all the CIA recruits are very good looking.

Do lie detectors really work?
absolutely not!
back in 1985, before the feds outlawed it, I had to take one from an employer...not only did it say I lied when I didn't, I was able to successfully lie to it on a different subject, all in the same test😕
