Do Leadtek and Gainward geforce 2/3s have top notch 2d?

Thinking about trading my Radeon 32meg ddr in and getting a geforce. Either a geforce 2 Ti or Geforce 3 Ti200 depending on funds

Will these be ok for 1600x1200 desktop. As good as the Radeon? Another possible I'm considering is the Ledtek. Anyone?

btw, I was told that elsa had excellent 2d for geforces, but to be honest, when I tried an Elsa Geforce 2 Ultra, it wasn't quite good enough at 1600x1200. Just a bit blurry compared to my radeon...

I believe that nvidia cards started having dramatically better 2d with the gf3 line... I do think I have heard that the whole Ti line has the 'improved' 2d... This is just kinda informal word around various fora... As far as manufacturers with good 2d quality... Gainward, Leadtek, and Visiontek are supposed to be good... www.thefiringsquad.com has reviewed the Leadtek ti500 and concluded that its 2d quality was superior to some past favorites (Radeons and g550's/matrox's)... I hope that helps...

I have the Leadtek GF3 Ti500 and the image quality is superb.

My old Gainward GF2 MX had good 2D image quality too.

Get the Ti500. Honestly, it's superb and I rate it as a 5 star card. It's fast, has excellent image quality, has a ton of features and AFAIK it's one of the cheapest Ti500s available.

yeah, but it's about £300 new over here, and seeing as it's so new, best I'd do would be about £250 secon-hand (if i were lucky enough to find one!). Wheras second hand geforce 3 standards are going for about £200 which isn't too bad for the UK...

OK. You might also try looking at a GF3 Ti200. That's almost as fast as a GF3 but it's much cheaper.

yeah, those are about £200 new (rip off uk). Don't expect to see second hand ones for a while though probably.
