Do LCDs need a warm up time like CRTs. ..

My LCD is pretty much instant when displaying windows if I were to turn it off then on again - much quicker than a CRT getting it's brightness back. There should be no problem at all, plus every LCD I've had now seems to look good at default settings anyway, whereas I always had to tweak CRT monitors.

before setting bright, contrast, colours,..?

That's all.

Regards

LCDs warm up pretty quick, however it's recommended you wait hour or so if you are going to do any colour ,brightness adjustment etc... especially if you use colour calibration equipment like ColorVision Spyder etc.

A lot of LCDs are poorly calibrated, you don't realize until you use colour calibration equipment,my Belinea 10 20 35W was like night and day after proper colour calibration.

Takes a minute or two for the CCFL to warm up (meaning in starts out a little darker then it will be).

This happen in all CCFL lights. You notice it more though when it's a light in your lamp then on your computer monitor for some reason.

I've noticed theres a couple minutes warm up time. If I turn my LCD on and sit right down, things seem dark. Other times I turn it on and walk away for a while, it looks brighter. This is less than 5 minutes though.
