Do LCD's make you HOT?

No, not THAT kind of hot. What I mean is, the light coming out of the screen from LCD's seems to be warm, so much so that it feels like my face is getting warm while i'm working on the screen. I know my CRT doesn't do this. Is this common for anyone else, because its a bit annoying, especially in the summer months.

Note, i'm not talking about the heat of the backlight coming out the vents in the back. I mean the actual light coming out the front of the screen is warm.

i havent noticed such, as far as heat generated by the unit itself, my lcd makes MUCH less heat than my crt did

maybe ur on really high brightness? im on like 15 brightness normally so i guess i dont notice heat

wouldn't a CRT make you feel warmer?

it's probably not the heat from the LCD itself, but rather some reaction you're getting to something the LCD's emitting... unless you can feel the heat with your hand, that is...

LCD's don't really get nearly as hot as some CRT's do. I kinda miss that in the Winter sometimes, cause I could just close the door to the room, and the computer would keep it warm without any heat.

Same happens to me with my Viewsonic. I actually have to open the window in my room not to roast in it. Pretty sure it's the Backlit.

Nope, my CRT screen is cool to the touch. My LCD screen on the other hand is warm to the touch. Using it for a long period of time almost feels like i'm getting a suntan.

Yes its true that my CRT creates a decent amount of heat, but that all comes out the vents on the top - the screen itself remains cool. The same can't be said for my LCD.

My computer room has its own regulated AC. I cant feel any heat coming from my LCD screen itself (ever so slightly warm to the touch) but if I feel around the back I can feel some warmth.

My old 32" CRT could have seconded as a space heater.
