Do laser printers (Brother 2230) come with starter drums, or only starter toners?

I have two Brother 2230 laser printers that i'd like to get new drums for just in case and noticed that on amazon, the replacement drum (DR420) is $68 while a NEW Brother 2230 printer is only $67! at this point I might as well get a new printer but i'm wondering if the drum inside is a starter or an actual "complete" drum?

As far as I know drums, fusers, and developers are not classified as starter or full they are only one type.

The starter part is applicable to toners only I believe.

I think that is the whole point of buying a printer like that is that the parts cost more than the entire machine itself.

The consumable status page should give you pages remaining info for the drum as well as the toner. If pages printed + pages remaining = ~12k, then it's a standard drum cartridge.

Brother is unusual in providing full, regular toner cartridges with their printers.

took a look on brother's specs page and it lists a starter toner and a dr420 (12,000 yield) drum so it looks like i'll be picking up two new printers.

thanks for the responses!
