They say they don't add sugar, and I believe them... but they've always tasted a bit sweet to me. I can't explain it but it's a small bit of magic every time I eat them.

I always hated Kix. I haven't had them in years, but they were one of my big childhood disappointments. They made them look good on the commercials, but they always tasted like shit. This is from a kid who ate adult cereals as well as candy cereals.

sugar is the third ingredient

they're 11% sugar by weight

that's a lot better than crap like lucky charms which is 41% sugar by weight

plain cheerios are 4% sugar by weight

Just because they don't add sugar, doesn't mean that they do not have sugar in them. If they are made from corn...they have sugars in them.

But other corn based cereals don't taste sweet to me. Corn chex don't have the same slight sweetness to it. Maybe it's just how they're made...

It does not say anywhere "no added sugar" and the ingredients corroborate the addition of sugar.

Goddam, I didn't even realize they still made that stuff. I'll have to get a box for old times sake. Is it still in that orange box?

I thought I remembered them advertising "no added sugar" also. Maybe I'm just misremembering :^/

What the fuck... I remember eating as a kid specifically because it didn't have any added sugar. I need to find a picture of an older box

Hmmm... I may have been misremembering the 'no added flavors' as saying sugar

Well then, move along... nothing to see here

I just looked at some very old Kix boxes, and they advertised 3g sugar way back then also. I guess my memory was faulty too.

Corn chex has a different type of sweet to it, and so do Corn Flakes, but then again, I always add sugar on top of it.

We don't have Kix up here, but they look the same as Corn Pops, which definitely do taste sweet.

Kix tastes sweet because when carb breaks down by saliva, it turns to glucose which tastes sweet?

kix are awesome. haven't had them in a while but don't they seem to have a very light coating of sugar on the outside, making them a bit sticky? maybe I'm remembering wrong also
