It can also be bad. If some spammer or DoS attacker gets your IP, they can start hammering your IP. This has happened to me before. Someone decided they wanted to hit my IP repeatedly for days. I ended up releasing my IP and then re-connecting later. But, that was over a year ago and nothing like that has happened since. I don't think my IP has changed since I moved about 4 months ago.
That's what I thought. I got some probes that were blocked by ZoneAlarm. But after renewing my IP, the same probes occured.![]()
