so i just connected the battery of the UPS, connected it to the wall, connected all the equipment (monitors, printer, computer PSU, speakers) to it and powered it on (so it says to). but under "power it on" as the latest step it says Note: allow to charge for full 16 hours prior to using it. i've already turned on the printer and speakers and they both work and the UPS tells me the amt of watts its drawing.

do i still need to wait 16 hours to power on my computer?

Yes it will be best to let it sit on its own for charging. Seams that that UPS is one that keeps the batteries constantly charging and the system fead strait from the batteries. If it doesn't function like that then go ahead and run it the batteries will charge while your useing it. But i would go with what the manuel says.

okay thanks for the reply but i ended up not charging it last night. its working flawlessly and looks great next to my PC.

everything on my desk: 1 x 20.1in monitor, 1 x 17in monitor, 1 x 2.1speaker, 1 x all in one printer, 1 x lamp, and the PC in my signature runs at about 290V @ idle (keep in mind my CPU multiplier has been dropped to 6x due to E1ST intel's speedstep) when i ran 3dmark06 i remember seeing voltages up to 385ish on the LCD screen

It will work fine till the power goes out. If it would have went out last night it wouldn't have been much help. But good to hear its working great.

but last night it said that the battery was fully charged on the LCD screen, and it also said the same after i installed their powerchute software... so i was just guessing that they put charge it for 16 horus incase the battery was drained and they didn't want any problems
