Not sure about the current Taurus the but 2005-2008 500/Taurus had MASSIVE rear leg room and at the time, was more than an S-Class Merc. Not sure if it's changed but I doubt it. I saw a new Taurus in traffic the other day and it's huge.

Yes, the Taurus itself is a huge vehicle. (At the cost of interior space). From the back, the thing looks like a........WHALE! But inside, the front surrounds you like a high-rimmed bath tub (ok, but takes getting used to) with the center console jutting out into your space & your knees getting corralled by the curviture of the hip room available.

The rear seat isn't bad, per se, but when you want to see serious backseat legroom, hop into the back seat of a Ford Flex. That is FAR AND AWAY the MOST legroom I think I've ever experienced in a vehicle that wasn't a limousine. And that's with the driver's seat set all the way back gangster style!!

I rented a Flex and it is indeed very roomy. I mean, it should be, with it's interior dimensions. The quality of said interior was VERY nice, as nice as any "luxury" car in the same price range.

Yep and I'd honestly consider one if I had even 1 more kid *or* if I didn't care about mpg. Even with the ecoboost engine, it's 17 city and 24 highway. That's good for a vehicle that size, but not as good as I'd like to see. And since I do a ton of driving I don't want something that gets teens for MPG. I've got an F-150 if I wanna see teens all day. (gulp)

Equinox/Outback/Camry are all right there.

One question mark would be the revised 2013 Santa Fe, but I don't know if I can hold out that long. It *should* be receiving the same 2.4 GDI engine as the Sorrento & finally get a good look. (Santa Fe/Sorrento a rare case where they didn't revise both at the same time last year. Sorrento got the revamp, Santa Fe stayed)
