Do I realistically stand a chance in my airsoft match tommorrow?

I am having a match with my friend tommorrow and a bunch of other kids. I told him I wanted to 1vs1 him, but Im starting to second guess myself. He has an Mp5, and I have a gas pistol. If we both had the same gun, I would win, hands down. But what do you think for this matchup? Here are the stats:

Its decent, and has worked for me in the past. But this was before he got an Mp5. I used to dominate. I have had 4 years of paintball experience before playing airsoft, and I have been playing airsoft for the past year or so. So I am a much better player than he is.

He really isn't that good of a player at all. He started playing airsoft when I did, ( about a year ago), but he doesn't have the 4+ years of experience that I have from paintball. He also is sort of a "pansy". He will shoot and run. He has no tactics. Little skill. And no experience.

This primarily comes down to a good gun with a bad player VS. a good player with a bad gun. Who will win?
 
I voted "Me"- because I will win! Muhahaha. You will probably win, but there is always the "spray and pray"
 
It's possible to win. From what you said, once he starts taking fire he will flinch, then you can move up and maybe line up a shot.

BTW-I've never played airsoft. How do the hits feel as opposed to paintballs? Do you wear any armor besides goggles/mask? One hit kills?
 
If you are the better shot / know how your gun works etc you will win if you get the chance to shoot first basically... ALthough I have no idea how you do a 1 vs 1 really... Unless it is in a houseish structure or CQB.

I had a TM TacMaster, TM MP5, G3SG1 and G36C... You could give anyone else any one of them... and I could have still won w/ the pistol. 😛

Auto doesnt mean you can hit ****** 😛 just ups your chances if you suck ass
 
Oh yeah, its a 1v1 in the woods. We start at far end of the woods, and move in when the airhorn sounds.

Nitewolf, it is 1 hit kill. But we could do multiple rounds. As far as how they hurt, it varies much more than paintballs. In paintball, almost all guns sting a lot, but in airsoft, only the more expensive guns do. So it really depends on the guns. Also, they dont leave welts like paintballs do, and while paintballs can hurt for awhile, airsoft hits are only quick bee sting type of hits.
 
My primary is actually a gas KWA M92FS pistol, similar to yours. I have one thing to say: calibrate it well, adjust the hop-up, and that way you can aim. Odds are he doesn't know that the sights on airsoft guns are halfway-functional, instead of pure decoration.
