i got an antec slk2600 and it came with a psu. this guy has all the usual connectors etc and then
this little ah heck alike a cpu-fan plug...3pin. Should i plug it into the mobo? Is it for gauging the fan speed
on the psu?

yes, it is the rpm monitor for the fan in the psu. you can plug it into the mobo or or any other rpm monitor if you want,

I could never get this 3 pin connector to give me any readings. I have an Antec True480 PSU and ASUS P4C800ED board. I tried my best but the BIOS never showed any reading by using this connector. If you get any reading from this connector I would like to know what it says.

It was prolly to low for the board to read it, I come across that a lot. A BIOS update might help.
