Do I? Or do I?

Please see my system details on below link.

I am currently running 166FSB and 12.5 multiplier.

Questions;

To overclock this sucker do I?

1. Put the FSB up to 200, hence 200*12.5 =2500
2. is the maximum I can have, 200*17=3400
3. the *17 multiplier is at the begiining shared with the *9, how do I know the 17 is running?
4. Watch the temperatures like a hawk?
5. How can I quickly check the chip speed in win xp or is there some other software other than Sandra.

Thanks in advance.

Why not try 200 x a lower multiplier, establish a baseline stable OC around 2200MHz, and gradually work your way up? Don't want to overdo it and mess up your motherboard's BIOS... 🙂

You can see the CPU speed by running DXDIAG.exe in Windows.

I'd tend to look more at stability than temperature. Mobo temp readings aren't that accurate anyway, since they're just exterior estimates based on air temperature underneath the CPU.
