i looking at a mobo to get for my next upgrade and i'm set on getting an Nforce2 board (Epox 8RDA+)....i'm thinking of getting 512 MB PC2700, but do i need two DDR DIMMS to use the dual channel mode?? i've even heard that dual channel is only for the integrated graphics (GF4MX) and i wouldnt benefit.

Yes you need 2 matched DIMMS for the dual channel mode. Read Anandtech's nForce2 review to see if the dual channel will benefit you even without making use of the onboard graphics. IMHO I'd say go for 2, 256MB sticks and use the dual channel. Too much bandwidth can't hurt. :)
