Do I need to worry about PC getting ransomware?

Hi, I see this has happened on some NAS and the situation is getting worse. Do I need to worry about PC getting ransomware?

Over 40 years use of computers, I only got virus once.

Is there anything on your computer that if you were to lose it you’d be willing to pay money to get it back? If so yes if not then no.
