Do I Need to Upgrade My Router?

Building a PC for the first time. I'm pretty well set with what I'll be buying. On my existing setup, (an old Gateway Performance 500), I am running through a Netgear Gateway Router, model RT314. I've had it for about three years and it has operated flawlessly during that time. Hooked it up and haven't looked at it since.
I'm on Comcast cable, and I have a second PC in an adjacent room that is wired into this router, also. My primary concern is security. Should I upgrade like I have done with everything else, or leave well enough alone? Has the security technology in these firewalls since I bought this model dramatically improved to where upgrading is wise?

The next Level of Routers has additional capacities for variety of security measures (like better SPI, VPN etc.).

If your clients will do exactly the same things that they are doing now. I.e. they do not use VPN and do not need special Firewall Filtering, then you can leave it as is.

I should add that these are two home PC's. One is in my home office and used for business related activities. The other is in my daughter's room and used for the usual BS: school and AIM.
