Do I need to upgrade my PSU?

Hello!

I will be changing my graphics card to a HD 6970 next month and was wondering will my Corsair VX 550 be able to handle the card or will I have to upgrade to an AX 750 or an AX 850 watts PSU?

My system specs are in my siggy. I will NOT be cross-firing now or in the future. Kindly advise.

You'd have to upgrade the PSU if you were thinking of doing CFX, but if you're just doing a single 6970, then your VX550 should be able to handle it just fine.

Your current psu should be fine. I'm running 6950 crossfire on a 650w psu.

Thanks guys for letting me know. This saves me a lot of money which I can now invest in getting that HD 6970 next month and a new mouse!!
