Can i let my router and modem run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year without letting it rest?
Will the power adapter to the router last so long hours?
If i do shut down the router, will my router's configuration run away?

don't think my router has been shut off in over a year.. theres really no reason to
I would suggest you at least have it plugged into a good surge protector, but other than that
just let it run. As far as losing your configuration that shouldn't be a problem, of course i don't
know what make/model router your talking about.

It's OK to leave it on, BUT..be nice to your equipment or it'll burn your house down.

Make sure the power cubes, power cables, and external equuipment have good ventilation. Don't stack a bunch of stuff on top of the modem, don't allow the power cubes to be covered with clutter or buried in the cable pile that tends to occur behind the desk. The heat buildup will shorten the lifespan of the components, and some of 'em have potential for failing "the wrong way" and adding some excitement to your life.

I leave nearly all my stuff on all the time.

FWIW

I am using Netgear RT314 model
I am planning to move the router to another room.
If i unplug the power socket. Will my configuration of the router still remains?

Yes, it should stay the same. Just make sure you unplug it from the wall, not the router.
