Do I need to reinstall MS Dumprep??

Toshiba laptop celeron 1.5
XP
SP1

My laptop was running slow at startup so I ran MSCONFIG.
I found for the first time "dumprep" listed.
It had never been there before, I check MSCONFIG often.
I did a quick net research and someone said it was a virus a trojan horse. :-(
I reacted quickly, and did a HD search and found 5 dumprep files. I selected and deleted them, they are in the recyle bin now.
MS gave me a warning that these were needed files.
I said no to the question... do I want to alter my MS files. I thought the virus gave me that warning

MS then then told me it wanted MS SP1 CD.
I do not have that, I downloaded that off the net, windows update.

These files came from the
c/windows/ServicePackFiles/i386 dumprep
c/windows/system32 dumprep
c/windows/i386 DUMPREP
c/windows/prefetch DUMPREP.EXE-1B46F901
c/windows/$NtServicePackUninstall$ dumprep

I have rebooted twice,
.....can I do system restore? I have never used that before.

Have I done harm?

Help 🙂

When I select properties on the files , it does give an option for restore.

I later found this
.................................................
dump file (1) A file created when a problem or exceptional condition is
encountered while using a software program. Also called a trace file, the
file contains information useful in diagnosing or locating the problem. (2)
In SQL*TextRetrieval, a file used to download data from the database.

DUMPREP Executable command that removes a report definition that is stored
in a database, and converts it into an ASCII file. This file can then be
moved to another computer. DUMPREP is used in conjunction with the LOADREP
command
