Do I need to put thermal paste under a Global Win FOP-32?

I've never done this before so I'm thinking I don't want to screw up my Duron by putting the paste wrong, anyways doesn't the FOP32 have a flat enough base to be fine without Thermal grease?

Thanks

Nooo, Mr. Bill, Nooooo!!

Always use a very thin layer of thermal paste on the top of the cpu, where it contacts the heatsink.

Some heatsinks come with a thermal pad attached, OK for your Mom's computer, generally not for overclocking.

All computer parts have magic smoke inside....If you let the smoke out, they quit working.

all heatsinks need some form of cunductor between the heatsink and cpu or else the heatsink is basically useless, without a conductor, such as thermal grease, heat wont transfer to the heatsink and the heatsink wont dissipate the heat.

Ogo,

Your FOP-32 will come with Phase Change Thermal Compound pre-applied. Just remove the thin protective plastic film. No need to mess with any other compound.
