Do I need to pair DDR memory?

I thought you would need 2 or 4, but my mobo says otherwise. Maybe you can explain this to me;

I have a GA-7N400 Pro2 mobo with 2xOCZ 512 and 2xCorsair 512. I can not get all four to work together, but in any combo of three I get 1.5gb and POST says it is running in dual channel. Is it lying to me?

Thanks

D

Multi and OP, refer to your motherboards manual (it is different for every motherboard). If you don't have it look it up on your manufacturer's site (they should have it in PDF form), as I'm too tired to do it for you 😉 but no, you can't run duel channel with one modual, it is physically impossible. If you have support for duel channel, then you need two identical sticks of RAM that support duel channel to run it.
