Do I need to manually set the RAM timings on the P8P67 motherboard?

I got the P8P67 Deluxe motherboard with some Ripjaws X Memory with timings: 7-8-7-24. When I check the timings in the BIOS it only shows the default 9-9-9-28 (it looks like it's configured to "auto". Should I manually change the values to match my sticks of RAM?

This is the RAM I got.

This it what it shows:

Actually, I think I figured it out: I need to manually use the XMP-1600 profile in order to get the timings in the specs, right?

Sorry I'm a memory adjusting noob...

I have the same motherboard with 2 G.Skill ripjaws DDR3-1600 4GB chips. Timings are CL9-9-9-24 1.5v

I noticed everything was set to auto in the bios and it was setting my memory at 1333.

I have the same question -- should I manually set these in the bios? Only difference between me and the o.p. is that I don't know what an XMP-1600 profile is or how to manually use it 🙂

Speeds above 1333 are generally XMP profiles. I'm not too familiar with the UEFI interface of Sandy Bridge motherboards if it shows JEDEC/XMP profiles itself, but most RAM with 1600+ speeds need to manually set the timings & voltage in the BIOS/UEFI.

You can tell what the XMP profile is the way the OP did with CPU-Z in the picture.
