i am currently using win2k professional, and i am really thnking about hostng my website on my own webserver. im going to do it on the current PC i am using right now. do i need to install wn2k advanced server to do this? or can i get the cd and install the necesarry components and add it on to my existing win2k OS so that i dont have the reinstall a new version of 2k? I am hoping to avoid a reformat if possible. thanks

You don't need server.

Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components - check IIS, give it the W2K Pro CD when asked, voila.

Well, I just reread your message and saw that you want to host a website.

IIS under W2K Pro only allows 10 simultaneous connections.

You need W2K Server for unlimited connections.

You do NOT need W2K Advanced Server.
