Do i need to format???

im upgrading my computer big time.

getting:

new motherboard/cpu
videocard
memory
box/powersupply


im keeping my hd's do i need to format or can i keep them will i have any problems with the new stuff?

with a new mobo it is recommended that you format i believe
in fact i think it may not even boot with a new mobo

easiest setup i know of is to have a partition on a hard drive that has only your OS
that way if you ever need to format you can just format that partition and you don't really have to backup all your files

yes vista will either format or install itself on a new drive/partition, unless you did it as an upgrade (and the way vista upgrades it basically installs seperately and just transfers some files and settings so it probably would be fine with the hardware change).

well i didnt format my comp but i did a clean install it kept my files just installed over my XP but it wasnt the upgrade wat
