so I have a samsung plasma TV bought december 2007.

I have cox and just have the basic cable with them. I was interested in HDTV a few months back and I called to ask about it. The guy looked into account and said that since I dont have 'digital service,' I will need to pay 10/month for the HDTV.

I went ahead and did not do it as I dont watch TV that much anyways.

Okay, so that's not the point. So according to my Cox rep, since he said I dont have 'digital service,' does that mean I need am on 'analog' right now and I will need to get the digital box for 2009?

I'm confused about this analog vs digital issue, so someone please tell me what I have or how do I find out.

thanks.

The DTV thing is concerning signals that are picked up by an antenna over the air. Since you have Cable TV you should be fine. Cable TV and Satellite TV are all not affected by this because their signals are digitally sent through the satellite or over the cable.
