Do I need to do ALL of the steps to flash my BIOS on an Epox board?

There have been so many BIOS releases for the 8KHA now, and I'm sitting here still using the first one like a loser.

The thing is, at the POST screen, I see the "Hit Alt + f2 to Go into AWDFLASH.EXE". This leads me to believe I could just slap the .bin file onto a floppy, put it into the computer, bootup, and hit alt+f2.

Am I horrendously wrong? The instructions included with the floppy are just a little bit... "out-dated" sounding, so I wonder if their instructions to make a bootable floppy and such are totally necessary.

Can I get some suggestions from some fellow Epox mobo owners?

just make a bootable dos disk and then run the .exe file which will extract the files to the a disk.

Then when the computer boots just type in update, thats all.

You can definately do it the "alt+F2" way. The only downside is that it doesn't create a backup of your old BIOS in case you need it for repair.

Just read the warnings, most important is DON"T POWER DOWN while flashing. I have a UPS so it's no big deal for me.

Ok, thanks for the info.

I wish I had a UPS actually, it would give me some peace of mind during my flash. Good thing the EPB is good about brownouts here. I don't think I've had a brown-out that wasn't caused by me (dont ask ;)) in... almost forever.
