Legally though, I think you have to, because they instituted that background check bs. So you have to have a social security number for them to run.

I think being a permenant resident is good enough.. you don't need to be a citizen

Well in 7 years when you can apply to be a citizen then i won't matter. I'd have to say yes though. Citizen or not.
