I have a BIOSTAR m7vkd and the northbridge fan is really annoying me. Its kinda loud and i wonder if i would take it out if it would cause any problems?

You can paobable get away without it. But only if your case has a good case fan and you do not overclock. The fan should not be that loud. Best thing to do it write Biostar and have them send you another one.

Or you can head over to coolerguys and buy a Zalman northbridge heatsink (performs quite well) or a Vantec Iceberq Copper fan. Both do a good job and are silent or extremely quiet.

The truth about Northbridge fans is that nobody used them until some motherboard manufacturer decided to use them and Joe Enduser said "that looks cool".

Since then, Northbridge fans have died left and right and motherboard manufacturers have all but stopped using them in favor of just a large heatsink.

On the other hand, you could just contact Biostar and get a free Northbridge fan. They do have replacements. ;)
