Do I Need the Fan?

I'm going to install the Zalman ZM80C on my Radeon 9800 Pro in a little bit... just curious as to whether or not I need to attach the Op-1 fan that I ordered with it. I'd prefer not to use a fan at at all....

My current set up has 2 Panaflo L1As exhausting out the back, the PS pulling air from CPU area and out the back, and 1 L1A blowing in through the window onto the video card. My thinking is that the window fan will already cool the thing, right?

try it out with out the fan and see if it works out its not like its gonna burn the card out I think it only recommends a fan anyways. if it seems like it is to hot for your comfort levels stick the fan on it.

I would run your comp as a huge fanless HSF and get those construction earmuffs so u can't hear the HD spin/seek.

Or buy These and crank them up, and a vantec tornado will be the least of your worries.

but if i were you i would run it with the fan since it's not all that loud. like what 35dB? Probably as loud as rustling trees or a breeze. Edit: the fanless HSF isn't gonna do anything unless there's airflow over it from the case fans, and from the sounds of it, there's not much airflow in your case.
