I have a Spyder hardware color calibrated profile that loads at start up then the ATI Catalyst loads and wipes out the settings. Looking at the Catalyst control center color settings, I don't see a way to disable something to prevent this from happening. If I uninstall the Catalyst Control Center, this doesn't happen. Is their a compelling reason why I need the Catalyst Control Center active? Is just running the display drivers sufficient to give me any speed boost or other enhancements that might be provided on an updated driver?
Right now I'm just running the onboard AMD X1250 video while investigating other cards and wonder if Nvidia cards will give me the same problem in their software setup.
