Do I need that registry hack for Win2k to achieve high broadband speed?

I upgraded my account to the 1.5mb/s from the 768kps. Both billing and technical support said I should be getting that speed now. But I've tested my connections at 3 different places and I still average around 70-80kbps. Do I need those registry tweaks to achieve higher speed or does anyone know what might be causing this speed cap??

Is that 70kbps, or 70KB/s? The latter is fairly decent given the overhead and general "50% performance" of the Internet.

That's weak. dslreports.com/stest gives pretty good results.

Windows can handle DSL speeds on its own fine.. You might have crappy phone lines.. or just a weak signal in general.

KB/s

70KB/s x 8bits/byte = 560KBps. Still quite a bit less than your rated speed.

Try the tests at dslreports.com and let us know.
