I heard that Game theater XP and audigy card support something like.. 3D enviromental Headphone output..so you can experience the 5.1 output without the need of 5.1 speakers? Do I need special headphone to be able to hear 5.1 using the headphone?

Yeah you need a headset with five speakers around your head and a subwoofer in front of your stomach. I'm sure I've seen them around, can't be too sure though...

j/k

No, any headphone should work.
The only thing to note is hat different brand/type have different sounding. So one brand/type might do better in 3D audio positioning than other.

Sony has a gadget that "supposedly" give you true 5.1 in a headphone. Its basically an out board decoder and some "special headphones". J&R has the system for 500 buck I think. They have one for DD and one for DTS. I always was intrigued by this and contemplated getting it but the price is too steep for me.
