I have a Sony A10, and i hooked up GT4 to enjoy some quality sim driving...i remembered that GT4 supports up to 1080i, i tried changing the mode in the game to ratio of 16:9 and resolution of 1080i, but the picture isnt HD...do i need different cables...i just used the regular cables that come with the PS2...i dont even know what theyre called...can anyone direct me in this situation?

Are you using component video cables? Those will transmit the HD signal. I have a hard time with GT4 on my LCD which supports 1080i/p. The game looks like a grainy POS.

To me i rather play GT4 on non-HD TV at 480i then 1080i on my LCD... PS2 games do not look that great when you can see all the detail.

imo GT4 looks better on my lcd monitor @ 480p than at 1080i. but i was surprised that the game wasn't choppy in either mode.

but yes, you need component video cables (and supposedly have to enable Y/Pb/Pc or however its spelled as the video output in the PS2's setup menu).

GT4 doesn't actually run at 1080i. When you enable 1080i, it goes into 480p mode I believe, and then uses the PS2's cpu to upscale the image to 1920x1080.

It's Forza Motorsport. At least get the name right.

GT4 is wierd about 1080i , When you enable 1080i the menus etc. are still displayed in 480p, it only uses 1080i when you're actually racing .. GT4 @ 1080i does look a lot nicer on my Sony 34XBR960 CRT vs. 480p.

I must admit Forza is impressive, After playing 5 hours or so I realised I was having more fun playing it vs. GT4 ..the only downside is Forza = 30fps , GT4 = 60fps (even in 1080i) but I got used to it.

Yea i like the vehicle dynamics and handling physics way better in Forza...but GT4 has better graphics IMO.
