Hello all,

I recently purchased an Antec 900 case
and swapped all my existing gear into it
now I'm having issues with my over clock.
Before I was able to OC my E2160 to 3.2ghz
Now the best I can do 2.8ghz
I'm wondering if I need a new power supply?
I am using an Enhance 80 plus 500W power supply

Here is the rest of my components

E2160 CPU
Abit IP35-E
2 sticks gskill 2gig each
Nvidia GTX
SB XFI
4 x 120MM fan
1 200mm fan

Not that using an 8800 GTX with a 500W PSU would be my first choice, if you were overloading the PSU it would shut down.

If all of the parts are the same and all you did was swap everything into a different case, why would the PSU be suspect? My first thought would be something got zapped by ESD during the transplant.

My reasoning is Antec900 has more 120mm fans than I had before also one big 200mm one

Yeah... I personally don't think a few fans at < 0.7A each isn't going to make that much of a difference.

But if you think it's that, unplug the fans and try it and see how it goes. Just leave one intake, one exhaust, and leave the side panel open.

Well, all kidding aside, ask jonnyGURU. He just happens to be the Power Supply Guru around here and I would personally Highly value his judgement.

Cool well thanks for taking the time Jonney! BTW you were right diodn''t make a bit of difference. I used the power calculator and it seems when I add in the aging of the caps it says I need a 600w supply do people agree?

Well based on what you said running a 500w supply with a gtx wasn't a good idea I just ordered an OCZ 700w that should end my power issues :)
