I heard the drilling, smelled the burning enamel, heard the cracking and bending, oh did i mention i felt it to? the ass didnt jam the needle far enough in my gums, no gas or sedation

Same with me, only the reason was he put shots on both sides, then started on the right side , by the time he got to the left side the novicane(sp?) was wearing off on that side. I didnt bother to tell them because i just wanted it to be done, i didnt want to have them stop give me another shot and wait for it to start working then continue on.

got knocked out cold with iv and mouth frozen...3 were impacted, the last was partially exposed. Getting put under is great. You wake up with a really crazy feeling. The only thing that I didnt like but i didnt notice cause i was knocked out was that they put a tube up your nose and down into your lungs so you can breathe or something. Woke up with no pain and very little pain later.

are you guys talking about wisdom tooth/teeth being lodged in an awkward position under the gums that need removing?

I have two wisdom tooth, one on each side of the bottom jaw, totally horizontal. One is covered entirely by the gum, the other is starting to stick out a little.

I dread the day I need to go to the dentist to get them removed. The thought of them having to cut my gums just freaks me out!

umm he kinda had my mouth wedged open and stuff inside it, i couldnt talk to well.....

he asked me if it hurt when he saw my eyes watering and i nodded.

I had 4 wisdom teeth removed and I used laughing gas + local. I was listening to music during the surgery and it was actually pretty trippy.

Why do people get their wisdom teeth pulled? Nobody in my family has had theirs pulled and nobody has crooked teeth. I still have mine and have no overcrowding problems or chewing problems.

Is this just another way for dentists to make money? THey do make like $100 - $200 per tooth pulled.

I guess that it varies from person to person and dentist to dentist but I had two wisdom teeth pulled recently and had no sedation and needed no pain medication at all.

So you're an android?
Nope. Just tough, I guess.

Did you even bleed?

You're kidding, right?
Went shopping after the extraction with gauze pads in my mouth. Looked like a hamster.

In my case it was because all 4 were severely impacted. One of them destroyed the tooth in front of it because I had the same thoughts as you on the whole idea. So when I finally had to have it done, I had to have 5 teeth removed - the 4 wisdom, and the 1 that had been cracked so bad that it was not repairable. It only showed under xray and happened rather suddenly (though it was rather painful).

I was under general anethesia. Had to be driven home. I also threw up a few times (swallowing blood = bad). And between the left over effects from the surgery, and the pain meds they gave me, I talked to people who weren't there...

Oh and my bill was MUCH higher than that. My portion, 20% insurance deductable, was over $300.
