Do I need hdcp??

Should I take hdcp into consideration? I'll do some light gaming & using this computer to watch videos on a hdtv. Is the hdcp only necessary if I get a blue-ray player on my computer? If so, this may be a couple of years away when the player prices come down, so maybe hdcp shouldn't be a factor.
 
HDCP is for Blu-ray and HD-DVD only. If you are not going to have either of those then you dont need it. But the X1950 pro is HDCP so you'll have it anyway.
