RMA it and lie about why its like that. Everyone does it, why shouldnt you?

Dont do what that other guy said and "be honest with AMD. Tell them what happened" because its not AMD that will be dealing with your issue, itll be a bored call center operative or somone with a similar job and they wont care if your being honest, theyll just wanna go home. Go on, just lie

RMA it don;t even try to run it with out a pin. It will burn your Motherboard also, lie or do what ever it takes just RMA it back to AMD.

So you've had the same exact processor with the same exact motherboard as the OP, with the same exact missing pin and your motherboard caught on fire?

Hah.

Send it to the pin repair place. Don't RMA it unless it actually came that way. Just because "everyone does it", doesn't mean you need to compromise your morals.

If I do RMA the cpu, what do I tell them?

Tell them you recieved it like that. If you ordered it by mail, it could have been damaged during transport. However, I do not know if the warranty does cover damage during transport.

So in other words... LIE! :disgust:

Just do as they are saying. Try it. If it works, great. If it doesn't, throw it away and BUY you another. It's YOUR fault it's broke. Not anyone's else. Don't LIE and say "I got it this way"! If you do? Well, it will be recorded in the "books". 😀

Heres what i think you should REALLY do. Just tell everyone here that you did the good honest john thing and went and bought a whole new one. But really just lie and send it back. One cpu aint all that valuable to a company but it is to you, no doubt somone will be thinking but what if a few thousand! people did it, well it still probably wouldnt make much of a dent in AMD's profits, ot whoever you RMA it to's profits. Its all good.
