Do i need drivers for my new digicam?

Screw that.. if its like any of the cameras I have used just plug it in and Windows XP (if you are using XP) will just see it as a removable storage device.

Works fine, no need to get extra garbage you dont need.

Any more, I think they all just see the camera as a removable storage drive. Try it and find out. Worst that can happen is it doesn't work.

Does it say anything about seeing new hardware or does anything show up under 'My Computer'?

well depending on what you hav edone to your comp you might have to endble another drive. I knwo for me in TweakXp i dissabled drive letters i-z cause i didnt use them but then i got more stuff and needed to enable I and J again so my Digi cam would work
