Do I need different memory for my 780i?

Currently I have 4 sticks (1gig each) of Ballistix DDR2-800 in an EVGA 780i mobo....trouble is the system is totally unstable when I use all 4 (they are identical specs but Im sure they are different revisions as I bought 2 sticks....then a month later bought the other 2). SLi mode is obviously undetected and it BSODs constantly (Can't get anywhere near a full install of an OS). The system also detects my CPU as a 2.3Ghz and the memory sets to 667.

I have tried setting individual settings...CPU to 3.0Ghz, memory to 800mhz, and FSB to 1333 (unlinked) and still the system is wildly unstable. As soon as I pull two of the sticks, no problems at all (the system is stable with either set of two). So unless someone has any bright ideas for me its new memory time.

If it is time to get new memory, I guess I need some suggestions.

-I'd like 4gigs (What config is best? 2x2? 4x1?)
-I plan to do ZERO OCin...none. I just want stability.
-I may not OC but Id still like speedy obviuosly

Specs:

EVGA 780i
E8400
XFX 8800GTX x2

Update:

So, I aquired 4 identical sticks of GSkill DDR2-800 and swapped them in for the Crucial. Still, before the OS can boot, BSOD and restart (With two sticks in instaed of 4, rock solid). So just fer fun I upped the voltage to 2.0v with the 4 sticks and now the system boots with no problems. Could it have been that simple or am i just on a lucky couple of boots here? Final question (I hope) would there be much of a diff at all between 800 and 1066 memory? Thanks again for any advice!!

Nother Update:

Nope guess it was luck as now Im gettin the Blue Screens again. The system even refused to post at all once.....beeped like there was no memory seated in it at all. yay.

try bumping the motherboard volts like the mcp or northbridge or spp. the ram may also need another small voltage boost but try to keep it under 2.2v (preferably 2.1v or less IMO). you may have to loosen the timings on the ram as well if that doesnt work.

As for Timings, I have em set to auto ...which seems to be prettylight at 5-5-5-12 or sumpin. As for the voltages, I seem to be a bit more stable at 2.0...nvr gone higher before. Got some new GSkill 1066 stuff (2x2) off of Newegg...hopefully that will clear this whole mess up.

Incidently i ran 3DMark 06 with 2 gigs, and again with 4 (when stable)....increased my score a whole 40 pts lol. (yes yes I know 3DMark is a crummy benchmark..still thought it was humerous)
