Do I need an special adapter

I'll be flying HongKong tomorrow. I want to use my laptop in the airplane for a long period of time. Do I need any special adapter to plug my laptop AC adapter into an airplane outlet?

yes you do, make sure the plane even has the connections though.

only certain aircraft models/certain aircraft have the plugs

you have to pay large $ to get the correct adapter

really?! now that sux. I dont wanna spend a fortune just for an adapter that i rarely use. I'm taking UA, I guess I'll have to live with the 1.5+ hr of battery life. Looks like gaming during the long flight is out of the question.

Yeah if you are flying coach you can pretty much forget about any type of power for any personal equipment. If you are flying business class or first class they usually have something you can use to power your laptop.
