all you should need is Component cables. HDMI will not work with digital cable boxes.

maybe he was talking about DVI cable?

I dont know squat about these things. He just told me I have a standard cable and I should go to best buy and buy the upgraded cable.

He prob meant you currently have your digital cable box connected to your tv via the normal coax cable, and in order to view the HD channels you will need to connect the cable box to your tv via Component cables.

What an ignorant statement. It really depends on the cable box.

Component, DVI and HDMI can all transmit HD signals.

Yes. Cox may not offer one with HDMI support, but other cable providers do.

He probably is using coax. In that case, then YES! upgrade your cable. I have seen so many setups with digital boxes and nice TVs and they are connected via coax 🙁

I have HDTV, but sometimes the HDTV lags and it gets chopped off. This happens myabe 3-5% of the time.

Im going to go check my box and see what it says and post back,
