Do I need an external Dolby Digitial Decoder if I use the Philips Acoustic Edge??

Hey folks, I'm trying to get a new audio system going on my PC, I'm really looking into getting an Acoustic Edge, and a Midiland S4 8200 5.1 speaker setup. The thing is, though, these Midiland speakers have an external decoder, the ADS-2000. However, whenever I read the review over at 3dsoundsurge.com for the Acoustic Edge, they said that the sound quality was better on the Midiland 7100s if they didn't even use the external Dolby decoder and just plugged the speakers directly into the sound card. So what's the deal, do I not need to get a speaker set with the decoder in the bundle, and this will sound better? Someone let me know, I really want this to sound killer
